Molalla DUI Diversion Attorney
Successfully entering and completing the DUI diversion program can be extremely burdensome when living in the Molalla area. Hiring a local DUI lawyer to help you navigate through this difficult process can be extremely helpful. Over the years we have developed relationships with treatment providers, alcohol counselors, ignition interlock providers, and many other helpful contacts to help you get through the difficult aspects of the DUI diversion program.
Unlike many attorneys we don’t just help you get into the diversion program, we help you to understand it and stick with you throughout the entire process to ensure the program is successfully completed, and dismissed. Often our clients who live in areas that are further out, such as Molalla, get cited or arrested for driving while suspended after they have already entered DUI diversion. If this situation arises, contact us immediately.
Many times people who are eligible for the DUI diversion program choose to enter the program without the help of a DUI lawyer. Some people are successful, many are not. It is important to hire an attorney who is familiar with the law, and it is equally important to hire an attorney that is familiar with the court where you are cited appear, the prosecutor in charge of your case, and the judge who will hear your case. This type of knowledge cannot be read; it is learned through experience.
There are quite a few commitments a person accused of a DUI must make to successfully complete the diversion program. A basic outline of the commitments are as follows: 1) Paying the entry fees, 2) Completing a substance abuse evaluation and the recommended treatment, 3) Attending the victims impact panel, 4) Abstaining from alcohol/drugs during the entire diversion period, and 5) Installing an ignition Interlock device during the entire diversion period.
Remember: you only have 10 days to request an implied consent (DMV) following your Molalla DUI arrest.
We have handled many issues that come about in the DUI diversion program arising out of the Molalla area. We have successfully litigated diversion eligibility issues, issues of non-compliance, extension issues, and ignition interlock failure issues—with outstanding success over the years.
